Oxygen for biological wastewater treatment
Assess supply against biological oxygen demand and the selected transfer method.
Manufacturer reference photo · sjjq.com01Define the operating duty
Determine oxygen demand from process calculations and operating data. Collect water flow, quality variation, treatment stage and existing aeration. Separate base demand from disturbances; tank volume alone is not an adequate sizing basis.
- Demand input: Water flow and load profile
02Connect the complete system
Define interfaces with dissolution, distribution and controls. Compare continuous supply, staged dosing and coordination with air aeration. Review backpressure and liquid-return protection during shutdown, assigning responsibility for each connected subsystem.
- Interface input: Existing aeration; Oxygen-transfer equipment
03Verify the configuration
Record gas flow and electricity alongside dissolved oxygen and treatment performance. Generation alone does not guarantee effluent compliance. Account for water-quality variation, maintenance and control adjustment when assessing long-term operating cost.
