01Define the purpose precisely
Nitrogen may provide transport, atmosphere control or another process function. Powder properties, equipment geometry and operating states influence the hazards and required controls. A qualified process-risk assessment should establish the design basis before a gas package is selected.
02Collect the operating inputs
Provide conveying cycles, vessel volumes, normal and peak demand, required pressure and approved atmosphere limits. Include startup, cleaning and maintenance states. The supply vendor needs these conditions but should not be asked to invent a safe process limit from the industry name.
03Verify the proper boundaries
Check the gas package's delivery specification and the process controls through their respective acceptance plans. Do not treat high nitrogen purity as proof that a powder process is safe. Personnel exposure, ignition risks and process safeguards remain part of the overall engineering assessment.
