01Describe the cycling pattern
Record loading transitions, pressure, delivered air and generator operating state. Note whether cycles coincide with PSA demand, another factory user or a narrow pressure band. Count transitions over a representative period rather than relying on perceived noise.
02Review the system arrangement
Storage location and usable pressure range can affect how demand reaches the compressor. Compare the installed arrangement with the compressor and generator suppliers' requirements. A larger receiver is not automatically the correct answer to an uncoordinated control scheme.
03Verify a reviewed change
Approved adjustments should preserve all inlet-pressure requirements and protective settings. Compare cycling, power and gas quality before and after at similar production loads. Reduced cycling is useful only if the complete station still responds adequately to demand.
