Operation and maintenance / ENGINEERING NOTE

Making daily inspection records useful beyond check marks

Record values and context that allow a change to be recognized.

01Choose observable conditions

Use the equipment manual and site operating plan to define the checks. Record relevant pressures, quality readings, dryer status and alarms with the running state. A value taken during standby should not be compared blindly with one taken at full demand.

02Capture departures clearly

When something differs, note the time, operating load and associated event. A short description such as pressure fell during line restart is more actionable than abnormal checked on a form. Avoid diagnosing a component solely from a single observation.

03Close the record

Assign follow-up ownership and record the result of qualified investigation or maintenance. Keep the before-and-after evidence linked. The purpose of the log is to detect and resolve change, not to accumulate a page of identical ticks every day.

Apply this guidance with the equipment manual, actual site conditions and applicable requirements. Design, operation and maintenance decisions need appropriately qualified personnel. Confirmed product documents govern a specific equipment supply.
