01Consider the surface history
At low moisture levels, sample tubing and fittings can release or absorb water and influence stabilization. Material choice, cleanliness and previous exposure therefore matter. A sensor reading immediately after a wet sample line is connected may not represent the process.
02Define the sampling conditions
Use the instrument supplier's guidance for materials, flow, pressure and conditioning. Record whether the reading is at line pressure or after expansion. Keep temporary hoses and long uncharacterized routes out of a critical acceptance measurement unless their suitability has been established.
03Allow a justified stabilization
Observe the trend and use the agreed criterion for a stable result. Preserve the sample arrangement in the report so later measurements can reproduce it. A fixed waiting time without regard to the actual trend is weaker evidence than a documented stabilization method.
