01Understand the measurement principle
Paramagnetic oxygen analysers use oxygen's magnetic properties to determine its concentration. The suitability of a particular instrument still depends on its design, range and sample conditions. The measurement principle alone does not establish performance for every gas mixture.
02Describe the complete sample
Provide expected oxygen range, balance gas, pressure, temperature, moisture and possible contaminants to the supplier. Ask about relevant cross-influences and conditioning requirements. Confirm whether the instrument is intended for the proposed process or only for a different analytical duty.
03Plan verification in service
Use the specified reference gases and calibration procedure, and retain the results. Include sample-flow and pressure observations when reviewing a disputed reading. Compare instruments only after aligning their conditions and allowing the full sample systems to stabilize.
