01Separate current and future loads
Prepare two demand profiles rather than one oversized maximum. State the timing and confidence of future production changes. A large package chosen for an uncertain expansion can spend years operating in an unsuitable low-load region.
02Reserve the right interfaces
Consider space, electrical distribution, ventilation, headers and control integration for later modules. Identify which shared components would become constraints after expansion. Reserving a connection is useful only if the surrounding infrastructure can support its intended future duty.
03Compare staged operating costs
Ask how each phase will dispatch equipment, rotate duty and maintain supply during service. Include the commissioning work needed when a module is added. Evaluate the first phase's efficiency and reliability separately from the eventual full-station rating.
