Why industrial PSA oxygen needs a clear composition statement

An oxygen percentage should be read with the rest of the gas specification.

01Read the whole mixture

Industrial adsorption oxygen contains other components as well as oxygen. Argon, for example, is relevant to interpreting the product composition. A stated oxygen concentration does not automatically describe impurity limits required by every downstream process.

02Match the analytical basis

Ask whether concentration is expressed on a dry or wet basis and what the analyser actually measures. If the process has limits for moisture or another constituent, request a separate specification and suitable evidence. Do not infer that an oxygen analyser verifies all contaminants.

03Confirm the application boundary

Give the full proposed inlet-gas specification to the industrial user or equipment supplier. The acceptance decision should cover concentration, pressure, moisture and other relevant limits together. Avoid extending an industrial gas specification into medical or other regulated use without the required separate evaluation.

Apply this guidance with the equipment manual, actual site conditions and applicable requirements. Design, operation and maintenance decisions need appropriately qualified personnel. Confirmed product documents govern a specific equipment supply.
