01Different regeneration conditions
PSA and VPSA both use cyclic adsorption, but the pressure conditions and regeneration equipment differ. A VPSA arrangement commonly involves a blower and vacuum equipment. Those differences affect layout, auxiliaries, noise and the pressure available for the process.
02Compare usable delivery
Specify the required oxygen concentration and flow at the downstream connection. If one proposal needs additional compression, include that equipment, its electrical consumption and oxygen-service requirements. A comparison that stops at the separation vessel can favour the wrong solution.
03Use a load-based evaluation
Request performance information for the expected operating schedule, including reduced demand. Review capital scope, annual energy, service access, backup supply and installation constraints together. The preferred route depends on the application and site; the process acronym alone does not establish lower total cost.
