Can an existing factory air station supply a nitrogen generator?

Check available capacity and air quality under coincident factory demand.

01Look beyond installed power

Compressor motor ratings do not reveal the spare flow available at the proposed connection. Review logged station output, pressure and the largest simultaneous production demand. Include dryer regeneration and existing leakage in the air balance.

02Measure at the intended branch

Pressure and quality at a distant receiver can differ from conditions at the generator inlet. Record local pressure during load changes and verify the required contamination and moisture limits. A shared header should not be assumed suitable merely because other pneumatic equipment runs on it.

03Define priority and fallback

Discuss what happens when both the factory and generator demand peak, or when a compressor is unavailable. Agree operating priorities, alarms and any necessary separation or added capacity. Keep the nitrogen package's inlet requirements in the shared air-station operating documents.

Apply this guidance with the equipment manual, actual site conditions and applicable requirements. Design, operation and maintenance decisions need appropriately qualified personnel. Confirmed product documents govern a specific equipment supply.
