01Start with the question
A single downstream measurement may detect a problem but cannot always locate it. Identify the information needed to distinguish cooling, drying, filtration and drainage faults. Place practical measurement or inspection points around the stages that can alter those conditions.
02Keep the readings comparable
Specify pressure basis, units, timestamps and the operating load associated with each reading. For dew point, record sample pressure and conditioning. For filter loss, retain actual flow context. Uncoordinated values from different shifts can suggest a relationship that never existed.
03Choose an achievable routine
Combine continuous signals for fast changes with scheduled checks for slower contamination or service issues. Assign an owner and a response to each abnormal indication. More instruments are not automatically more useful if the data cannot be interpreted or the sensors are not maintained.
