Operation and maintenance / ENGINEERING NOTE

Checks after maintenance before returning gas to the process

Verify both the repaired item and the system functions it can affect.

01Review the work scope

List components replaced, settings changed and connections opened. Confirm that the installed arrangement matches the approved configuration and that the relevant inspection records are complete. Unrecorded changes make later fault diagnosis much harder.

02Test affected functions

Use the manufacturer's return-to-service procedure to check operation, instruments and relevant alarms or interlocks. Consider whether work on air treatment, sampling or valves can alter gas quality even if the generator itself was untouched.

03Release on documented evidence

Observe stable quality and delivery conditions over the agreed duty before returning the stream to production. Record any restrictions and follow-up checks. Closing the maintenance order should depend on the required verification, not merely on the equipment restarting without an immediate alarm.

Apply this guidance with the equipment manual, actual site conditions and applicable requirements. Design, operation and maintenance decisions need appropriately qualified personnel. Confirmed product documents govern a specific equipment supply.
