01Describe the real load distribution
A station may run at full output only briefly while spending most hours at reduced demand. Record the duration of the main load bands and idle periods. Average flow alone hides the control behaviour that determines energy use between production events.
02Ask about each operating state
Clarify unloading, standby, regeneration and restart behaviour for the compressor and gas package. Determine what electrical or air consumption continues when product flow falls. Different control strategies can produce different annual costs even when their full-load figures are similar.
03Measure a representative interval
Use total electricity divided by accepted delivered gas over complete shifts or production cycles. Include the low-load periods instead of deleting them as unrepresentative. Check that any proposed control change preserves quality, minimum operating limits and production response.
