01Draw the service envelope
Place doors, removable elements, lifting routes and routine inspection positions on the layout. An installation can fit geometrically yet leave no practical way to replace a filter or remove a major component. Use the actual equipment drawings rather than a generic rectangle.
02Coordinate neighbouring systems
Review ventilation, cooling, drainage, power and gas-pipe routes together. Keep discharge locations and access paths visible on the same plan. Account for expansion equipment and for the space needed to bring a replacement unit into the room.
03Walk the proposed route
Before finalizing the layout, compare dimensions with the real site, including door heights, floor levels and transport restrictions. Assign responsibility for foundations, penetrations and utility connections. Record unresolved clashes before equipment delivery, when they are easier to resolve.
