01Rank the operating consequence
For each component, ask whether failure stops production, reduces capacity or only removes a nonessential indication. Consider whether a backup gas source or parallel machine can cover the event. Parts cost alone is a poor measure of criticality.
02Include supply and service constraints
Record lead time, interchangeability, shelf-life restrictions and the skills needed for replacement. Check model and revision compatibility against the installed equipment. A stocked part is not useful if it fits an earlier valve or controller version.
03Maintain the list
Review inventory after equipment changes and actual service events. Keep preservation and traceability requirements with each spare, especially for gas-service-specific items. Coordinate replacement work and return-to-service checks instead of assuming that possessing the part guarantees a short outage.
