01Locate cold exposure
A warm machine room can feed pipework that crosses an unheated area or runs outdoors. Identify the lowest expected temperature along the full route and compare it with the specified pressure dew point. Local condensation risk cannot be assessed from the room thermostat alone.
02Review dormant equipment
Shutdown can change temperatures, drainage behaviour and the condition of auxiliary lines. Use the equipment supplier's seasonal shutdown and restart requirements. Protection arrangements should cover drains, instruments and cooling-water circuits where relevant, not only the main gas pipe.
03Verify after cold conditions
At restart, confirm treatment status and product quality before release to production. Record any low-temperature alarms, frozen drainage evidence or unexpected pressure losses for qualified investigation. Do not use improvised heating or open a pressurized section to address a suspected frozen component.
